NESCO
or North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited was
incorporated in 1997 under the Companies Act of 1956. This organization
is responsible for the distribution of electricity in the northern zone
of Odisha. Under the jurisdiction of the NESCO lies Bhadrak, Jajpur,
Mayurbhaj, Balasore and Keonjhar districts. All villages, towns, and
urban areas also come under this electricity supply jurisdiction. The
supply area of electricity is vast. It is spread over 28,000 square km.
Above 97 lakh population is covered in this plan. The organization has
three customer care centres that provide service and help to any power
and electricity issues.

Southern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited or
SOUTHCO is a
part of the
Odisha electricity board. The organization was incorporated
in 1997 under the Companies Act, 1956. It is a public limited company
and is responsible for the distribution of electricity in the southern
zone of Odisha. SOUTHCO is responsible for the proper distribution of
electricity in the areas like Ganjam, Malkangiri, certain parts of Puri,
Kandahamal, Phulabani, Koraput, Gajapati and Rayagada. SOUTHCO is a
subsidary of BSES Limited, Mumbai. SOUTHCO which covers an operational area of 47,000 sq. kms. provides electricity to about four lakhs licenced consumers. It aims to ensure unintrupted electric supply to its custoners and works constently for customer satisfaction.

Western Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Ltd (WESCO)
Western
Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited (WESCO) is a public limited
company incorporated in 1997. The company was developed to carry out
the distribution of the retail supply business of electricity in the
western region of Odisha. WESCO is a subsidiary of BSES, Mumbai. It is
responsible for the areas of Sonepur, Deoghar, Sundargarh, Bolangir,
Nuapada, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Kalahandi. The head office of this
zone is located in Burla. WESCO purchases bulk power from GRIDCO and
sells them directly to different category customers. It is also
responsible for billing, installation of meters, new connection,
construction, maintenance, and repairs of any kind. WESCO also attends
to the complaints of customers in the western zone of Odisha.

Electricity Regulatory Commission is a statutory body that mainly
comprises of three members, including the Chairman. The other members of
the commission are known as the Commissioners. These commissioners work
